Reception interior fully rendered perspective drawing

Mood board - reception area - Holistic Treatment Centre

This reception area for a holistic treatment centre combined principles of Feng Shui and eco interior design to create an inviting, visually pleasing and functional interior. Using eco materials such as clay & lime finish plaster board, renewable cork flooring, organic silk window dressings, recycled cardboard shelving, natural paint, recycled content ceiling finish, sustainable timber skirting & cabinetry, compact fluorescent downlighters with occupancy sensors and dimmers to maximise energy efficiency.

Reception interior fully rendered elevation

An elevation of the same reception area in the holistic treatment centre where I maximised the use of natural daylight through the glass faced facade with the use of organic silk panels that gave coverage for shade yet allowing diffused light and warmth through, minimising the need for artificial interior lighting.

Treatment room full rendered perspective drawing Mood board - treatment room - Holistic treatment centre

A perspective drawing of one of the treatment rooms viewed from the entrance door in the holistic treatment centre. Using natural water based and non toxic paint finishes with calming hues of green and yellow to symbolise health and wellbeing. There are three stages of colour: The flooring is dark cork which symbolises earth and land, the walls symbolise vegetation and landscape and the ceiling finishes symbolises the sky with the use of lighter colours. This echoes the mind at its most peaceful when viewing the natural order of a landscape, enhancing the natural concept of the interior.

Staff Kitchen & Office Area

Mood board - Residential Kitchen focusing on eco interior design The Holistic treatment centre staff /kitchen floor plan

The kitchen holds a great deal of storage with a large amount of available worktop space which provides plenty of room for different zones, such as cleaning, preparation, cooking, light eating and laundry. The peninsular run of units creates a divide within the room, and helps contour the functional areas. This makes convenient use of the middle of the room, without compromising on space or natural light.

The kitchen door fronts are solid timber from imported sustainable forests. The carcases are 16mm formaldehyde free particleboard with a melamine facing. All woodwork is from a local timber yard – the timber is grown and processed locally in managed forests. The kitchen worktops are made from engineered bamboo with a durable water-based finish and solvent free adhesives. The tiles were sourced from a local manufacturer where they make the tiles by hand from locally quarried clay. The paint on the walls and staining on the woodwork is 100% natural with a mineral and vegetable base.
