It is vital that all design professionals encourage responsible design in everyday practice. The construction sector accounts for a large amounts of environmental damage from material extraction to disposal. Product and industrial designers have a core responsibility to integrate ecological design into their work – however a large number work for manufacturers who do not place environmental practices high on the priority list. The more interior design and architect professionals that demand environmentally friendly and ethical materials and products, the quicker manufacturers will be forced to adapt.
